Anaheim passes, They need Top 6 RW and Top 4 RHD, Which none you provide them.

Young 1Cs don't come that cheap. Frost isn't good enough offensively to be a 2C and not good enough defensively to be a 3C, York isn't needed in Anaheim with too many LHD already (though you swapped him for LaCombe, still we have too many today is the problem, and why would you acquire A only to trade away one of his best buddies in York)

Farabees a decent enough player but as the main piece in a Zegras trade is wholeheartedly underwhelming.

And to add to the previous two comments, it looks to me like you've forgotten that there's less than a 1% chance that you'll own that second when the final day of the draft rolls around.

Way too much going on here. Start from square one, which I imagine is Zegras for PHI.

Zegras + something like the BOS 2nd = Foerster + PHI 1st

If you want to add Lunde or Lacombe, both are far from untouchable. The Ducks however have no need for a LD in return, and Verbeek/Cronin both value bigger players. So take that into consideration. First and York being under 6’ puts them at a pretty low likelihood

I don't necessarily agree with that. Columbus could very easily decide:

1) They simply like next year's draft better

2) They want to have the flexibility to be able to use another 2nd rounder as trade capital, so they defer this one to Philly and use their 2025 2nd as trade bait

I'm inclined to agree that the more likely outcome is them saying "this pick is pretty high and there's a guy in that range we like, lets use the pick", but I wouldn't call it 1%

1) No, Columbus could NOT decide, let alone very easily decide, that they simply like next year's draft better -- no one in his right mind would make that premature decision about next year's draft based upon this year's 17-year-old pool. And even if they did, inasmuch as there is an 87.5% chance that next year's second will be later than this year's, how in the world could they decide that some kid they're going to pick at #42 or #45 or #48 a year from now will be worth more than the kid they pick at #36 this June?!?!? Moreover, even if the pick is the same or even earlier, time has a value.

2) Your second statement that having "another 2nd rounder as trade capital" might be appealing to Columbus doesn't jibe well with their building status.

I don't agree with any of your counterpoints on the first one. Teams absolutely can and do begin evaluations on players in their D-1 season, you're talking about clubs with ocean deep pockets that pay people salaries to solely watch these kids, understand the analytics behind their progress as players, and develop an understanding as to how a lot of things will play out. If they determine that in general they think next year's pool has stronger players at the time of their D-1 development than the 2024 draft, and by the time pick #32 is off the board they don't really love any of the prospects that are available, they can absolutely say "we like the way next year is shaking out enough to not use the pick this year". The 87.5% argument is also just not that important of a factor, you're talking about a negligible difference in pick quality between 36 and even 46 generally speaking to the point where it shouldn't compel a team to make the pick "because it's high"

Maybe I’m a little wet behind the ears but I thought saying Joel Farabee is decent was grounds for banishment here
