I doubt he wants to go to the worst team in the NHL and sign up for no playoffs for his whole career

Isn’t that what he did when signing current brutal contract?

Hopefully not. But Buffalo has been quite a bit better than SJ. Skinner also likes being on the east coast

Think Sharks will probably need to overpay a bit for a solid RD in FA

IMHO we shouldn’t go after one then. Build it up through the draft like our fw core

I agree with your premise for the most part. Think 1 FA RD to at least bridge gap for when drafted D are ready to make the jump. Certainly doesn’t need to be Demelo

Yeah if we are able to get UFAs on short contracts I’m all for it. I just look at most other teams in these huge rebuilds and they didn’t do go out and sign these UFAs besides maybe a guy on a 1 year deal. If we do that, by all means let’s, but if we can’t. I say we just find a young RD from a team and ride out Rutta on his last year of his deal and play
Emberson and Ferraro as they were our best pairing before he got hurt

You’re asking too much for skinners dump and as mentioned earlier he won’t waive. He waived to go from CAR to BUF only because he has family there apparently.

Skinners buyout is not terrible, that would be a way better option than trading 11OA and a quality prospect. Or the Sabres could retail half and just give home away (since they are not in cap trouble).

I think the amount is appropriate but get that he won’t waive and Buf doesn’t need cap

Yeah if he was a total dud, 4th liner it would be totally fair but I think the fact that he’s still a 25 goal, 50 point guy dilutes it a bit. It’s still a cap dump still but he’s not totally useless. Just overpaid by like 4 mill.

I’m definitely in favor of it, just don’t think it’s likely.

Now Buffalo fan has been telling us Rosen is the 2nd coming for 2 yrs. I dont think he is a part of a dump when he's going to be inducted into the Hall of fame next year
