Markstrom will wind up in New Jersey, No way is Ullmark waiving to go there.

Krug isn't waiving to go back to Boston, As of now unless things change he only waives to go home to Detroit per Friedman.

That STL trade made me gag. Giving up a young forward with team control for an undersized LD we wouldn't pay when he was 28, and now we're expected to pay at 33? Hayes is a 3C and would be even on this team. A late 2nd doesn't move the needle.

I do like Smith as a last resort if DeBrusk walks, but he's older and about the same price, doesn't make sense.

1. Ullmark’s NTC is now apparently an NMC in people’s mind. He has to choose between being in a closer time zone, easy travel, playing time, and a winning culture. There are going to be a lot of teams that he can’t block trades to and he’s going to have to sacrafice some of those things for others

2. That St Louis trade is vomit inducing. Another third line center blocking a very good prospect, an undersized old D man blocking a very good prospect and losing one of your toughest players in Frederic. No thank you.

3. Krug waiving for Boston isn’t likely an issue. It’s the fact that he’s older and makes a ton of money. You can make a few risks like that, but not on a player like him. We didn’t make a viable offer to him when he was 28 for a reason.

You can on a player like him. You just have to have a top 4 in place and lack a PPQB. He's still a good puck mover. He's just shouldn't be playing top 4 minutes ES, and if he is he needs a guy like Carlo or Parayko. However, our management has always believed Parayko needs to play 70% defensive zone starts, and truthfully they may be right but that's due to the awful construction of our defense in general.

Reilly Smith may be someone you come back to if you strike out on all forwards. I don’t foresee that happening

This is not true. You’ve said this before. Krug would waive in a heartbeat to go back to Boston. They prob don’t want him back tho

Krug himself stated that he blocked the Philly trade because he didn’t want to go to a team that was rebuilding and might trade him again. (Which is dumb because Blues are rebuilding)

Since becoming a member of the Blues, Krug has posted more things on social media going back to Boston than he has in STL…

News flash - St. Louis isn’t any closer to Krug’s family in Michigan than Boston is.

I was making a joke about how every post MoSeider53 suggests "insert player here" will not waive for "insert team here" because he only wants to play in Detroit

Gotcha - sorry didn’t know. I would agree Krug might not waive for a lot of teams but he most definitely would for Boston. He also only has a partial no trade after this season

Can’t forget Krug unfollowed all the Blues social media accounts after the Philly trade was leaked. He doesn’t want to be here but is just fine picking up the large checks every month.

Ullmark has a 15 team NTC clause. If you take out the teams out west that leaves maybe 2-3 teams. I would put Canadian teams and teams like Columbus out of it too

The only complaints I have is that you didn’t give Swayman enough and you didn’t opt for a viable center. After that, all your trades don’t matter.

There are a lot of teams with bad goaltenders

15 or 16 teams is actually a reasonable amount depending on how he splits his list

1. Geography / Time Zones
2. Ease of securing direct flights for his family
3. Competitiveness
4. Goalie situation
5. Long term stability

To me, the real question is which young player do you want to give significant minutes to between Lysell or Merkulov and Bussi or DiPietro next year. I’m not sold that is as easy a decision as it is being made out to be.

I know that is the hope of some teams is getting him for cheap. My guess is Sweeney keeps him if the offers are nominal. We’ll see how the desperate for goalie teams with limited FA options act.

Chris Johnston put him third in likely to move behind Saros and Markstrom. That surprised me at first, but not so much
