Quoting: Letsgosharks
TBH if Holtz is publicly made available I think a ton of teams make a push for them, I know for a fact we would
As of right now NJD has 2 middle 6 winger spots available, 1 in the top 6 probably alongside Jack Hughes and either Mercer or Haula, and 1 on line 3 alongside probably 2 vets like Palat and Haula.
I think Holtz would fit well on either of them, and I expect him to get that chance this year. When he is an RFA, depending on development, the Gritysuk KHL situation, and contract, I think then he may potentially be on the move
I'd like to see Clarke get a shot, at least somewhere. He reminds me a lot of Fabian Zetterlund in terms of being high shot volume offensive wingers who were TEARING up the AHL and just waiting for their chance to crack in the show.
I think if a team really pushes for Holtz in a trade for a guy we're targeting, I'd be willing to move him to "get my guy" in this case Fehevary, and see what Clarke can do in a 3rd line offensive role.
If we don't move Holtz, it's interesting for Clarke.
Could be traded, put into a top 9 role, or be a scratch.
I'd expect the scratch to be likely with a vet middle 6 winger brought in via UFA.
And so for scratches
