No from Winnipeg on all the trades except the Vegas one which Vegas and McNabb say no to.

The Jets don't have the right side depth to trade one for a bottom six forward with a bad contract.

Extremely unlikely Winnipeg trades an extended Ehlers for an RFA winger that is looking for a big raise and has arb rights. It also fills no need for the Jets.

Just the 3rd is good for Iafallo. The Jets don't need deadweight in return.

The Jets aren't going to take back a worse long term contract if they move Schmidt. They'd just buy Schmidt out.

I understand not having the RD depth but Mangiapane is neither a bottom 6 forward, nor on a bad contract. He is very fairly paid and absolutely a 2nd line caliber 2-way forward

40 points doesn't sound like a top 6 forward and $5.8 is a helluva lot for those 40 points.

Nearly every single one of those points was at 5v5. Not his fault Savard was a horrible power play coach. Plus he had horrible puck luck, he had an expected goals for 22 and only scored 14.

please expand. I actually thought that was a perfect fit for the Canes. They've been trying to get him for years is my understanding.

Ehlers doesn’t solve anything for the canes.

He’ll be too old to re-sign for our standards
Has health and longevity issues that would make the next contract problematic even if the canes believed in keeping guys at 35+
He is another perimeter player
He doesn’t do well in the playoffs

If the last 2 don’t make it a no, the 1st 2 definitely does. He would have to play for us to even consider extending him and that is too much of risk for a prime RFA candidate
