LA is in a weird position these days. Kopitar, Carter, Toffoli, Pearson, Doughty, Muzzin, Quick are all excellent (and/or elite) players.

Taking Muzzin out of the equation to get Duchene looks like it would leave a serious gaping hole on defense. Keep in mind this team has to deal with ANA, NSH, SJ, EDM, CGY, MIN, CHI, STL s if/when playoffs come around. That LD side would get decimated against most of those clubs.

I'm not sure about this. The team is really top heavy. If Wuick, any Top 6 or Top 4 player gets hurt, they are easily done.

The Trade in and of itself is not bad from the Kings side. I don't think the Kings are going to move anyone at this point. If they were going to move one, I would have signed a guy like Markov to stop gap and offset the move. At this point it does not make much sense. I can score more goals, but I'll give up more.

PS: If we can get Ottawa to give us a 7th for Crapkoff, then Blake should be paraded through the streets. :-)

Our issue last year was they all had poor years with the exception of Pearson and Carter, though Carts tired and tailed off towards the end of the season. That is why I wish we would move Carter to RW with Kopitar. A trade for a guy like Tyler Johnson or Bozak could have made this possible. Too late in the offseason to do anything about it now. All we can do is hope guys rebound (Kopitar/Toffoli) and a few kids blossom (Kempe/Brods/Shore/Dowd/Ladue and Forbert)...Otherwise we will be watching the playoffs again.
