Loved Mikheyev when he was here but Canucks seriously overpaid; Leafs decline; that soup can has sailed

That airtime is going to cost more than a 3rd +Mikheyev and it's going to be exclusively Mikheyev highlights as a Canuck.

The Caps have Carlson, Jensen, TVR, Iorio, Bear, and McIlrath on the right side. I dunno why people keep sending us RHD unless we're getting rid of 2 or 3 of them. Also, just from the Caps side of things, if we're gonna trade our first, it should be in a trade for a top 6 scoring threat. Defense could be improved in free agency i guess, but adding scoring help should be the number one priority for the Caps

That's fair value for Hronek but we have four RD making 2M+

Like this one from 2022-23, just need 3 to 4 more to make a 15 second highlight reel that will be put on repeat as they talk about the acquisition for 20 minutes. They'll include Berube's face too from the one below.

Title is Ilya Mikheyev Flies In And Pulls A Nifty Deke For A Backhand Finish in case the video is broken.

The Sharks aren’t giving up an unprotected 1st for an AHLer and a 2nd.

It's unprotected. Vegas barely snuck in the playoffs with a superteam this year. They're about to lose a TON of depth, be year older, and have no assets to trade for top 6 players to fill in if any guys go onto LTIR this year. They better hope their perennially injured top 6 stay healthy.

The difference in value between a mid/late round 1st and a mid/late round 2nd is HUGE

Leafs decline. Mikheyev at 4 mill is still an overpayment. He probably shouldn't be making more then 2.5

TSN and Sportsnet can only do highlights of McDavid west of the ontario border. its in the contract
    Arvidsson and Myers too much
    Guentzel not near enough
Joshua. Somebody is paying him 4. Its not right but its going to happen .. see Goodrow

You're fav team just gave them their best player with retention for 7 year!! They will be back. They'll bring Marchy back and the top 6 will be great along with a killer bottom 6 lead by Karlsson and Roy. They have $6M with Lehner on LTIR with 11 F 7 D and 2 G. They will be fine and that first will be late.

It's crazy to think they won't be just as good for a while. They have a ton of talent and are better set for this coming season with some young talent like Brisson coming up too.

My favorite team offloaded a 30 year old with 6.5 years left with a full NMC, while shedding nearly 7 mil per year lol. And STILL got an unprotected 1st and Vegas' best prospect.

Vegas is guaranteed to lose Stephenson, Amadio (probably the 2nd best forward in the Dallas series), Carrier, Mantha, and Martinez. And they also have Dorofeyev who should be getting north of 1.5 mil, so essentially 4.5 mil to sign Marchy.

Even if they do sign Marchy their top six would be:
Barby (bad season) - Eichel (frequently injured) - Stone (constantly injured)
Karlsson - Hertl (Frequently Injured) - Marchy (Turns 34 in Dec)

Not sure how you factored Karlsson into their bottom six because beyond those guys, their next best forward would I guess be Roy or Cotter and they certainly aren't top 6 guys.

No doubt this is still a very good team, but my entire point is if they have the same injuries they had last year with those top 6 guys, they could be in BIG trouble. I wouldn't be suppressed if that pick is 32 overall or in the top 10

I'm not gonna doubt Hertl, especially going to a strong team, until he falls off. Personally think he will be very good for them for at least 3 more years.

Dorofeyev will probably be in Hertl's wing. But certainly Karlsson could too. That was my idea for top 6 at least.

Certainly a chance it could turn out to be a late lottery pick but I think that is more likely for a team like Calgary or even Vancouver to regress instead of Vegas in the West.
