No they wouldn't. I've been doing a ton of reading since the elimination. People are saying he's an embarrassment and want him gone and that he hasn't earned a raise. I don't see the Rangers giving him more than his QO.

Why? Seems like most of you guys are done with that and would move him for a second. Especially at that cap hit.

Gotta Florida is much better keeping Bennett for a year, keeping the first and second instead of two years of Tuch.
Sure Florida might have to replace Reinhart but now you have them replacing Bennett

What the fans are saying isn’t what the organization is saying lmao

It’s gonna take more than a 2nd for Drury to move on

Why not just send the rags a second and not overpay him? That’s going to make his QO next year even higher than it should be. Just doesn’t seem smart.

Also, if Reinhart leaves I doubt they want to lose Bennett too. If anything maybe they’d trade Bennett or others to keep Reinhart.

I don’t want him gone. He was never truly given a fair shot or utilized correctly to succeed

Exactly. If they would be unhappy resigning him for 2.5 no way they bring him back for almost 4. They honestly would be better off trading him and getting more than a 2nd, but Buffalo has the means to do this.

Because the Rangers might not want to give him up for only a 2nd, but this would force their hand.

I get that but who do you lose if you match that QO? I haven’t done any rags ACGMs but the ones I see have guys taking pretty friendly deals to keep the team in tact, or they offload guys like Trouba which isn’t actually likely to happen. If it’s between getting a second for KK and keeping the rest of the team in tact or matching this and losing another younger piece I’m not sure I’d match..

In a trade, yes he would need more than a 2nd. But the Rangers can't afford Kakko at almost 4. This forces their hand.

Perhaps. I think the gms would talk before it got to this point bc of how buddy buddy they generally are. But I get your point.

They wouldn’t lose anyone. And if they need cap space they can buy-out goodrow

This is the same nonsense as last year when people were OS Laffy and Miller because “NYR didn’t have cap”

They have the cap space to retain Kakko at his current salary but not a significant raise like this. Also, I don't see them buying out Goodrow who is a leader of the team and had an awesome playoffs.

I forgot you’re an insider for the rangers organization and know what exactly they would do

Like I said, OS don’t happen and this is the same nonsense as last year that people like you did for Laffy and Miller

I am worried about my own team and I think Kakko would be a great piece who could help us turn a corner, if given proper high end opportunities.

Lafreniere and Miller are both signed for Peanuts. And Lafreniere doing great this year, probably is going to get an extension that's 6m AAV or something along those lines, so now you really can't afford Kakko at 4m.

Again, Buffalo isn’t gonna OS Kakko lmao you’re living in fantasy land

Rangers can also dump goodrow and Trouba to make room because they’re gonna end up doing it anyway

They can't. They don't have a cabinet of draft picks to do so. Nor do they have the cap space.

I just read an insider on Twitter say that their source says the Rangers are running it back with the same core. Goodrow and Trouba are there to stay. Kakko logically has to be out.

A shakeup might be needed if we want to take the next step, and all of these moves make us a deeper team. Plus, Tuch has been in trade rumors for a while now.

Yea that’s with everyone taking the expected contracts

Just like everyone was there to stay year and in the event of an OS on Laffy or KAM, goodrow would probably be gone first lol

They can in 2027 when panarin and Trouba are gone. Either way your post isn’t realistic cause OS don’t happen lol

It's rare but it does happen. I think of the S Aho/J Kotkaniemi offer sheet situation not too long ago. Kakko is a prime candidate for that.
