Good signing, assuming this is a one way deal and he'll be up full time next year.

This is good for two reasons.

1) The Kings avoid the 5% raise on his qualifying offer and keep his cap hit at league minimum.

2) If Thomas doesn't make the team for some reason, the 2nd year being a one-way deal could scare away teams from snagging him on the waiver wire, as teams don't want to have to pay that kind of money to a player that can't crack the NHL.

I'm hoping that he'll make the team full-time next season.

2 years at league min. 3G 1A in 7 games, plus produces well in the AHL. probably will crack the roster before the contract is done. Great signing.

No risk for Kings; good strategy to try their best and keep him but I would have to think that if he gets waived someone needing scoring picks him up.

Wonder if Fahgemo gets the same deal or if gets one-way for this year also.

Either way Kings should be able to make room for these two with Arvidsson and Lewis being UFA and Kaliyev wanting out. But Dubois between them and see what happens!

Well it's been a pleasure chatting with you all about hockey. I guess CF is shutting down. Sad.
