You need to give actual quality to get a good player. Armia is a 4th liner who's overpaid and Florian is a D tier prospect.

The first is a starting point. Now add something else of quality.

He’s not going to Montreal. Especially for that. Already confirmed they don’t have what the Canes are looking for.

what is carolina supposed to get out of this trade?

a 19 year old who scores a ton because he is so much bigger? a near cap dump? a late first?

I forget where but an article was listing a starting point for Necas is Xhekaj and their Winnipeg pick. As Carolina wants a ready made top end prospect and a pick. To be honest, for where Carolina is, I would not make this trade. Not due to its value as Xhekaj and and a 1st could easily equal the value of Necas. It's more than I would prefer a more proven commodity over Xhekaj. I would look at Necas is a great option to balance needs and more proven commodities coming back

It was an article I read, and I can see the value back for Carolina ... But that being said, I believe it is was too much risk to lose this trade on Carolinas end. As they are more wanting ready made players who can play top 4 D or top 6 forward.for Necas. Carolina is not in a position to sell, and thus they would rather leverage Necas to a value point of winning or coming out even next year no matter what.

To be honest it was an article I read and probably a Montreal news article where they place a bigger value on Xhekaj. I can see Montreal publicists angle on Xhekaj, but the risk is way too great for Carolina in my opinion on such a trade

That would be Arber though wouldn’t it? Why would they want florian as a starter in a necas trade?

Dude, over half the league is calling the canes about him. They are going to get a hefty return IF they decide to move him, which they don’t really want to. They want to keep him and give him a larger role next season.

Armia is a worthless cap dump, you couldn’t at least give up the real Xhekaj? Lmao. Even if you did, canes still pass

There is the link where I took the idea from.... I do get what you are saying and I agree. It seemed off to me as well

Again I was gauging thoughts from a trade idea from a rumour site...

https://www.nhltraderumors.me/2024/06/nhl-trade-rumors-asking-price-for.html

Do I see it as a viable trade no! I was curious other opinions on such a trade.as more a Leafs fan, I can see the value in Xhekaj but... There is way too much risk that Xhekaj does not become what was envisioned and thus I find such a trade for Carolina a non starter in my opinion and from the comments.the majority agree with me.

That link if true, does say Arber, not Florian. It would make more sense if the canes wanted Arber and the Winnipeg 1st as a starter. Not Florian and the 1st

They reportedly have told Montreal they don’t have what they’re looking for

I would not argue such a comment. It was based on a rumour link. I have posted it. As myself a more non partial fan or both teams, I do not see cmsuch a trade happening.

Yeah I can see that. Never thought they made good partners in a potential Necas trade

I think you got the wrong Xhekaj. If it were Arber, then at least valuewise, from what we seem to receive about the evaluation of GMs on Xhekaj, it would be decently close in value

nhlrumors.me is notorious for false rumors. they take fringe rumors from actual sources and spin it into a rumor of their own.

wifi doesnt have a lot of value outside of Montreal guys.

You are right I see hat error now on my part! I did not notice that. I did put the wrong Xhekaj..I will try to change that. Still seems not a trade for Carolina tho!

Yea, probably not ideal for CAR. Xhekaj would likely make the lineup, but not sure CAR wants potential in a Necas trade

I’m a big believer that Necas is overrated but even this ain’t anywhere close to getting him - nor would it be a deal for Montreal to make. The Canadiens have made it clear that Xhekaj isn’t available and they’re extremely high on him. They’re not moving him.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see Necas end up in Seattle in a deal involving Shane Wright and I don’t think Montreal has the assets to beat that kinda offer
