I posted that recently, could be a potential move, at the same time, Bordeleau finally learned how to play NHL hockey and played significantly better towards the end of last season, so IDK if management will want to move him

He’s listed as a C/LW. They don’t need that

Solid post, IMO I would probably only sign 1 UFA dman, and I would jumble the lines up a bit

No on Mikheyev but I don't mind the others.

Edit: Oops I meant to respond to the OP. Sorry about that.

Worth a shot if it's possible. Could be a 2nd too

Cuylle is the 3LW and there’s reports that Othmann struggled at RW. Berard spent most of the year at RW over Othmann

Feel Cuylle is a better fit at 4LW and Berard could be 4RW. Othmann at 3LW would be best but then they could put Bordeleau at C and move Chytil to wing. Gotta be a way to make it work. Bordeleau has some potential.

Kakko has potential too and they’re the same age. Only difference is he’s been in the AHL majority of his years

Kakko is what he is at this point. It's been 5 years in the NHL for him. 300+ games.

And some how a guy who seemingly can’t make the Sharks rebuilding lineup is better?

Maybe the problem is that you expect Kakko to be a point per game player which isn’t gonna happen lol

You need to lower your standards because Kakko was playing mainly playing with Cuylle, Brodzinski, and Bonino 12-13 minutes a game with no special teams opportunity. Even when he started out playing with Mika and Kreider he barely got ice time and that line was shooting at like 4% (because Mika and Kreider aren’t good at 5v5)

hes made the lineup, we just sent him down essentially to protect him this year, I do agree though that Kakko obviously has more experience and a higher ceiling

I think Bordeleau has kind of solidified himself to be a 3LW who can play pp2 minutes, and if we are really lucky and he comes out of nowhere, maybe a 2nd line winger at some point in his career

Obviously Kakko could very well be a good top 6 winger at some point in his career as he has been somewhat mishandled, and is still young

He could just need a change of scenery to ever find that kind of play

Two things can definitely be true: Kakko hasn’t come close to his draft pedigree and he’s still a good NHLer. He’s definitely not being utilized correctly to his strengths

Bordeleau might be a good player but Lavi usually plays guys in their natural position and the rangers are overloaded at LW both on roster and pipeline

I don't expect Kakko to be more than a two-way 3RW who can be a 30-40 point guy who is responsible defensively. That's all he is.

Ok and that’s better than most NHLers and bottom 6 players. Some guys can’t even play average level defense. What he lacks in scoring, Kakko makes up in little plays

makes sense, I absolutely agree, Kakko is definitely not being played in the correct area for him to fluorish.

I have no problem trading him, but it has to make sense for the Rangers

If the offers for him are only a 2nd or 3rd round pick, then it makes more sense to keep him for 1 more year at $2.4m. And I get why no one would give up much for him either

There’s not many UFAs that can get for that cheap to give the same production or defensive impact as Kakko
