Is Cates a regular center or is he better on the wing (this is mostly a question for Flyers fans) It seems he wasn't a regular center last season and his faceoff percentage isn't great 44.5.

He's a natural winger, but played mainly C last season. This season he started at C but got injured at the end of November and played LW after that. Can play either position, no problem. Faceoffs is the only weakness this guy really has.

And no, this offer doesn't get you (hopefully) future selke finalist. Flyers don't need Jokiharju.

Yeah the Flyers are insanely high on him there’s no shot they trade Cates for this. You could add a 2nd to this trade and the Flyers still probably wouldn’t accept

Maybe they should play him more then.

Top 4 RHD at age 25 with RFA eligibility don't come cheap and he would be a clear upgrade at RHD for you

Flames take that and run. Love Coleman but if he’s getting a first back that trade gets done 100% of the time.

This would be tempting for sure but it's a mid 1st not just a late 1st which wouldn't be considered.

My bad, you're right. I had Buffalo confused with Detroit. It was Detroit that just barely missed the playoff not Buffalo.

Yeah we have Sanheim, Drysdale and Risto in top 6 now and Bonk coming in year or two. It's the same as with Liljegren, nothing against the player, just not a fit for us.

Drysdale is a complete liability besides the power play. 62% oz starts! That's 3rd pair sheltered. Jokiharju would fit in on your 2nd pair

He's a solid top 4, young, rhd defensemen who would be in your top 4. I am seeking a forward who played under 14 mins a night for you.

He’s 3 years older than Drysdale lol in 3 years Jokiharju will still be playing in useless game in Buffalo while Drysdale will have surpassed him in every single category.

There’s a reason Drysdale went 6th overall and was traded for another who went 5th overall and Jokiharju is in every Buffalo team being traded for a 2nd or a 3rd lol.

Don’t kid urself. You can think Jokiharju is a good player but don’t act like Drysdale doesn’t have the higher ceiling.

Jokiharju was also a 1st round pick.

We just happen to have invested a tremendous amount of money and assets in defense and he's the guy without a contract

Please don't act like you got fair value for Cutter. You had a gun to your head

The difference between 6OA and 29OA is extremely different in terms of talent and NHL success lol, history and numbers back that up. Don’t kid ur self u don’t have the better player. He’s nothing special like Drysdale will be.

Even if that's the case, which right now it isn't, I'm trading jokiharju for a forward who played 4th line minutes for you, not drysdale

And that dude that played 4th line minutes had Selke votes as a rookie last year and was one of the best defensive forwards in the league this year who was forced to play 4th line because all of our 4th grinders sucked and we had other rookies like Brink and Foerster who wouldn’t benefit from playing on the 4th line. Again a player that has more value than Jokiharju who is nothing special just another body on a defensive unit that has sucked for two decades.

You’re talking like you know what you’re talking about lmao. That’s not true.

Just that you couldn't develop him doesn't mean no one can. Shaw & Torts made him reliable defensive D. And please, you ain't that stupid to make argument about Oz %, You know offensive D's tend to have more oz starts than D-zone. Like Dahlin.

And if you could understand what you quote, like I said, nothing against Jokiharju, stellar NHL-D, we just don't need another mickey mouse D in exchange for (hopefully) future selke finalist.
