Based on what Dubas has done in the past

Description
Reinhart reasoning - Dubas has history of signing guys to big contracts. I think theres a very slight chance the Penguins actually do this or that Rhino would actually sign, however I personally wouldnt mind it. We need someone to replace Jake and someone big. If we go after a Drouin or Teravainen I'm afraid Crosby will be the only player on the team with more than 70 points on the year.

Tarasenko reasoning - I think hed be a good fit next to Geno. Both are Russian and Geno has fallin off a bit. Hopefully with another Russian on his line he has better chemistry.

Rangers trade - Lindgren has been in trades on thos site. Smith is a forward they need. Dubas wants a hockey trade for Smith.

Edmonton trade - Henrique likely walks meaning they could use a 3rd or 4th line center. Eller had a good year with the pens and would be a good fit.

Seattle trade - Francis mentioned that hed like to use some of his picks to acquire players that help the team now, similar to year one. Take a gamble on Rakell who is a 50 point guy.

Calgary trade - Dubas mentioned before the season ended that he prefers prospects to picks. I think that can also be said for certaib players. He said if hes moving picks it's for help now but also in the future. Sharangovich makes a lot of sense to spend a few picks on. Calgary seems set on retooling.

That’s a low ball offer for Sharangovich

-dont see that offer getting done for sharangovich. unless conroy really does devalue his own players
-reinhart doesnt make sense when he plays the right side and we need, if anything, a left wing. cant go big game fishing when we need depth
-rakell wont be worth a 3rd, not this offseason at least. his value is too low. if he puts up 25 goals next year, sell high and move on
-tarasenko will probably command more than 4 mil per for 2 years
-brayden likely is going back to moose jaw, unless he gets a waiver for wilkes barre bc hes too young or unless he blows ppl away in camp. less than 1% odds hes in pittsburgh.

I think Francis' goal is to do a lot better than just "take a gamble" on a guy. Rakell-like players in spades on the Kraken, already.

Sherangovich is found money for Calgary. Made the deal for Toffoli (which was largely panned, initially) seem incredibly astute. Doubt he's moving, and unlikely for that price.

Yeah I doubt that's enough for a 30 goal scorer in Sharangovich but if he's available I'd pay more.

I don't think NYR take that deal and I think it's would be a later pick for Rakell.

I also have concerns about Blomqvist and Yager being ready, though they could be replaced by contracts of similar value.

All those issues being said could hypothetically be solved by paying more from the Pens side. The issue I can't see being solved with locking in Tarasenko, Reinhart and Lindgren is how there would be room to give raises to Pettersson, Crosby and DOC. I guess that's my biggest question mark on this route.

A hockey trade is when both guys have term, picks make more sense than an expiring in Smith

I agree. The Ranger don't need a $5M contract for one year. There are better alternatives for cheaper, younger players to fill the NYRs LD needs assuming they are looking to part ways with Ryan Lindgren. If Ryan remains in the fold, the NYRs are doing just fine at the LW position.
