The proposed NJD is not compliant with the CBA. The flames are still retaining salary on Noah Hanifin and Chris Tanev until July 1. A team can only retain salaries on three players that are not on their roster. The proposed trade would have to occur either during or before the draft.

It's not that off base. The first 3 trades are definitely a bit light but not egregiously. Banking on Nuke not returning isn't realistic though. Only way he doesn't come back in November is if does something that goes against the rules of his suspension

I don’t think you know how well Kuzmenko & Mangiapane will play this year for the Flames in a contract year

Andersson is far more valuable than just 11th overall

Kadri seems happy in CGY and sells tickets, so a late 1st isn’t worth moving him

Pelletier & Wolf haven’t done enough to command that kind of money. You’d be ahead or the same signing them for $874,125 and $813,750 respectively for 1 year and then signing them to longer contracts next off-season if & once they’ve proven and established themselves over an entire NHL season

Kylington only earned a 1 year contract at $1.25mil/yr as well, especially since he’s still a no show risk and we have others coming up who could make him obsolete next season

Way I view it:
If Markstrom (50%) + #28 = #10, and Kuzmenko (50%) = late 1st then that's a relatively fair swap out
Andersson is worth more for sure but something like a late 1st or 2 2nds more
Mangiapane (50%) is worth a late 1st to me, like Kuzmenko but that depends how those 2 play ofc
I already dismissed the Kadri trade
I agree completely on the RFA contracts
I don't have an issue giving Kylington 3M but not 3 years. I agree that a cheaper contract is probably more likely. I don't think he's a no-show risk at this point.

I’m banking on Kuzy & Mangy significantly improving their values this season for either new contracts or better trade value at the deadline

If we’re Trading anybody other than Markstrom this off-season, it should be Sharangovich while his value is at its highest ever

Kuzmenko is an awful fit for the Devils and Markstrom is not returning anything close to 10oa

The Devils and Sabres trades are a bit on the light side but at least they're in the ballpark. The other two aren't even close. Calgary enters serious discussion with NJ and Buffalo but tells Carolina and Colorado not to bother calling back unless they have a serious offer to make.

Swap Kuzmenko for younger, meaningful piece.

Avs wouldn't even bother picking up the phone to make the offer above!
