Pass from the Kings. We are hoping Turcotte has a decent first full NHL season, and Struble doesn't move the needle on the blueline for us. Need a proven 2nd or 3rd pairing LD to play with Clarke who can guide him.

Andersen-Doughty
Gavrikov-Clarke
Englund-Spence

Struble starts in the AHL but gets call up with the first injury
If Englund doesn't play great, Struble takes his spot

LA basically get their future 3LHD at the price of Alex Turcotte, not bad

I don’t hate that trade for SJ.
Think that deal would have to be a draft day deal and it depends on who is available at 14. For both Montreal and the sharks.

This would depend greatly on what LA thinks Turcotte upside is, if he is just a depth C then sure but if they view him as having middle 6 upside I don’t think they do this. Bottom pairing LD are a dime a dozen.

The Kings have their future LD in the organization already. His name is Jakub Dvorak. They're not going to trade one of their best young forward prospects and breakout candidates for a guy whose ceiling is a #6/7 defenseman.

If someone wants Turcotte, they need to offer an immediate improvement to this team.

Right now that's what he is (Struble), but maybe he could become a 2nd pairing guy.
Turcotte is older and less proven then Struble
I don't like trading Jayden because he is better than Xhekaj but I can't see management moving Arber
Struble fits more what LA needs than a guy like Jordan Harris

Funny how every fans thinks their prospects are one or two years away to be NHL ready
Struble is a former 2nd round pick, some range where Dvorak got picked. He played 3 seasons in the NCAA, start in Laval and outplayed Xhekaj when he got called up
Dvorak isn't near NHL ready ... if he ever makes it

But Turcotte is NHL ready, and the Kings intend to play him in the NHL this year. Why would a team looking to compete trade away a promising young NHL ready prospect with a spot in the current lineup for a guy that would be a healthy scratch on the team and would instead start in the AHL?

3LD are a dime a dozen.

Anyway, I will remove the trade

Yeah Struble will start in Laval to avoid playing those 14 games until his spot is secured.
