TB shouldn't and won't move Sergachev. Obviously he's blocked in playtime behind Hedman at a steeper caphit but he's eventually taking over PP1 responsibilities if he hasn't already and he's definitely in plans long term.
They're probably not looking to part ways with him, but I think if you're targeting anyone on the Lightning Erik Cernak seems to make more sense for Utah and would be a better option for guys like Durzi and Moser to play with. Physical defensive minded d-man who's also on a long term deal at a cheaper cap hit that would let your more offensive oriented d-men do more of their thing.

Sergachev hasn't had under 21:58 in four seasons how held back is he? They're not trading Mac's partner. They re-acquired McDonagh to partner him with Cernak.

Yeah so maybe held back isn't the right term, my mistake I guess. Meant that as a 2nd pairing d-man, but whatever, no reason to get frustrated about terminology on a site that's shutting down in less than a month. Honestly I see Mac as more of a vet that can develop a guy like Carlile and Lilleberg. I do like McDonagh-Cernak and obviously remember how they ran the bubble defensively, but be honest no one knows what the pairings next season are and we can only speculate. Need to start getting Crozier and Carlile more reps eventually, so why not develop them next to a steady vet like Mac?
