Stolarz's price is likely way above 2 mil. He was a top 3 backup this season.

"Brandon Montour: Projected for a 3-6 year deal with a cap hit between $6.483 - $7.7 million" according to Evolved hockey projections. If he's taking a steep discount for Florida it's minimum 6 mil.

I do like the idea of getting draft capital for Knight. The Blackhawks may have a future elite goalie but Florida is winning now, and 2 2nd rounders can get tham a good rental player at the deadline.

You can probably make it work by swapping Stolarz for a different free agent backup actually worth 2 mil or less, like James Reimer or Casey DeSmith, and signing a league min 3RHD instead of Brodie.

Knight was not good in the AHL played behind a good team he definitely needs a change of scenery and being on a one year deal I can see Chicago doing so considering how ba soderblom was

Sorry I might have worded that weirdly. I meant the Panthers might be giving up a really good goalie, but the trade is worth the picks for them.

The Hawks won’t give up two picks for Knight, they just resigned Mrazek who coming off a fantastic season and have Commesso maturing in the minors. On top of that they invested a 2nd round pick in Gajan last draft.

If they could get Knight for cheap, say just the 4th round pick, they may do it but taking on Knight’s $4.5m is enough of a risk, no need to overpay as well.

As for Soderblom, yea he was bad last season but he is still young, under contract for one more year and since the team still isn’t expected to be competitive this year they can afford to run him out there for 25 games again this season.

Hawks decline and counter with their '24 5th rounder. Panthers should just be happy to gain that $3m+ in cap space.

Knight has higher upside than any of the hawks goalies wouldn't hurt to acquire him if you can and he expires when mrazek expires, commenso should also be NHL ready at that point. Soderblom realistically should be in the AHL in 24-25, Also I mean't to only have the 4th in the trade don't know why the 2nd is on there
