Just the 11th overall is too much for Cirelli, but that’s what it would cost to get him. Kulich has less than a zero percent chance of being traded this off-season.

Agree with you. Cirelli is a good 3C but may not even be worth his 6.25m. Just sign one in free agency cheaper.

No free agent wants to sign in Buffalo. That’s why trading Mittelstadt for Byram still makes zero sense they are going to spend all offseason trying to find a Mittelstadt replacement.

I disagree with about the UFAs. Players look for $$$$ and opportunity. Buffalo is a rising time with cap, There are few teams with cap. There are few centres available as UFA this summer but that is no reason to overspend for Cirelli. The Sabres shouldn't be so close to the cap this season. They have lots of good RFAs coming up for contracts in summer of 2025. They are more important to resign.

11OA historically less than 50% chance of playing 200 NHL games. And from 98-17 2 were better than Cirelli Kopitar and Ellis Take 11OA and shove it. Cirelli has a 90% chance of being better than the pick that won't help fo 2-5 years from now. This does nothing to help TB with Brisebois stated main objective of reducing Goals allowed.

What UFA'S other than the Eric Johnson’s will sign in Buffalo. Adams has done nothing to make Buffalo a go to destination. He's gonna have his hands full getting any to say Yes.

correct, I'm curious as to where this sudden fascination with Strome came from with other teams

I just don't know why many UFA would reject the Sabres. Sabres are just as attractive maybe even more than Flyers, CBJ, Habs, Sens in the East. And most of the other East team don't have cap.
In the West, nothing good about the travel. Utah, Jets, Ducks, San Jose have cap but are they any more attractive than the Sabres?
There are really are two good centres as UFAs this summer, so maybe it just isn't the time to overpay for one of them.

They were more attractive last offseason missing by 1 point and still had some say NO
