Zegras will secure better picks and prospects based on the combination of potential and social media appeal. Don’t believe the Bruins have the assets that they will give nor do I believe that Zegras will be worth the assets it will take to secure him.

My assumption is Ullmark and a 2025 first would be the starting point for Necas.

this is comically bad. two players the boston bruins would never allow near their center ice position both in the top six. this one gave me a chuckle.

We're not interested in a quantity return for Zegras, we'd need an impact piece and there is none offered here. We don't have to trade him, he's not a pending UFA that we can't resign

Zegras isn't the type of center the Bruins target. He struggles to win faceoffs and isn't defensively responsible. Add to it that he ranks 14th among FWD in GV/60 since coming into the league. If he was a winger it'd be a different story, but he just doesn't fit the mold of what Boston wants from its centers.

more importantly...he just isn't a center. he's just pretending to be one on a team that isn't concerned with winning at the moment.

Ducks fans overvalue the Sh*t out of Zegras. He is worth, at max, a mid-round first, and I wouldn't even want Boston to do that. He isn't a center, he can't play defense, he can't forecheck, he can't win faceoffs (roughly 40% career), and, and I cannot stress this enough, Zegras just isn't a great offensive player. He's not like Patrick Kane or Ovi where all his faults are made up for by generational offense; his BEST seasons are both just solid 2nd line numbers (60 points, 20 goals). He isn't a top 6er on any team with a chance at winning anything, and he is a depreciating asset (less than 1/2 PPG this year).

Boston wouldn’t prefer a Zegras style player, and ANA isn’t moving Zegras for a bunch of lesser pieces when there’d be plenty of demand if they chose to move him. BOS doesn’t have the assets to acquire Zegras (top 6RW or top 2/4RD prospect of similar quality)
