Not getting Markstrom without a 1st rounder or prospect equal in value to it

Rasmussen is fine but you can definitely get more for a drop out of the top 10

Yakemchuk doesn't get by Buffalo if he's still on the board

Yeah Buffalo needs RD but Helenius is also a damn good player. Prob the most pro ready of all the players in this draft.

Once again. Markstrom is too old and he costs too much.

Two picks from Toffoli trade and Bastian, Misyul.

What would you take out?

Agree on Helenius, but Sabres are having problems know finding spots for Forwards. Yakemchuk checks a lot of Boxes and he is Physically Mature size wise and shouldn't take to much time either. Already weights 205lbs and will fill out more. IMO off course which is usually wrong

“No one gets Zadorov without a 2nd”
“No one gets Tanev without a 1st”
“No one gets Toffoli without a 1st, prospect”

(I’m good with package above)

True! You guys already have the best left side in hockey imo

They could with the right coaching, gotta figure out who fits with who. Especially if they don't bring in a RD, we have a lot of LD with 3 more coming up the System.

Believe it or not, the red wings actually say no to this. Ras "moose" is an all around favorite in the org and at times has been given the A to wear on his jersey. Im not saying its not worth the trade, but the wings just value Rasmussen that much that they would say no to moving up 5 spots. But maybe im wrong! all depends who is available at that pick

Just go six LD

Devils won 1995 cup with all lefties on blueline (not one minute from righties).

Well Clifton throws a wrench in that, but the Sabres might just do that. The Sabres really don't care to much on sides.

I mean his salary. He costs 6 million and he's over 30. Better choice is Binnington, who makes the same but is younger and what we need.

It was retained to $4m here.

Binnington is not a reliable goalie, and is clubhouse distraction.

Flames fans prices before those players were traded.

Every Flames fan I saw had Tanev for a 2nd + prospect especially since Conroy and every report said that was the demand Calgary had, that happened

Toffoli for Sharangovich and a 3rd is pretty close to that ask you had but, I don't remember what people here said since the trade happened pretty quick

Zadorov now that I think about it, I'll give you that one, people where putting a massive price on a 4-5D who publicly demanded a trade

Even if other teams dont value Jarnkrok, he's more valuable to the leafs as a defensive player than a 6th round, not sure they really would see a need to trade him

If Tij is available at #9 the Flames take him. Tij and Catton are close, Catton has the edge in skill but Tij makes up for it with his compete and would be more exciting for Flames fans. I'd be happy with Catton if Tij isn't available.

Flames probably aren't too interested in Bastian or Misyul so I doubt that would be the best offer for retained Markstrom. I think retained Markstrom will get a late 1st, if not packaged for something better.
It's possible Flames ownership **** it up again and not allow Conroy to add retention on Markstrom.

There were some calling for 1st for Tanev. Never in a million years would have Sharangovich satisfied Flames ask on Toffoli. They standard request was 1st plus good prospect. Zadorov was getting a wide range of asks…all were higher than final.

And I am not just picking in Flames. Devils were guilty of same. When we were selling Taylor Hall openly, NJD fans said Söderstrom plus 1st or Byram plus 1st (it was down to those two teams for a while).

My advice. Always trust the comps.

I am glad Conroy and Fitzy are on speaking terms and out the past behind them. It sounded like devils GM was still upset at Conroy at end of season media availability…and I was worried that could prevent a good move from happening. Calgary is still going to get a nice basket of goodies for Markstrom.

I picked Misyul because Okhotiuk bailed. Misyul played really well in AHL last year and probably would have gotten a call up if Hatakka hadn’t taken everyone by surprise (Hatakka was a contract dump thrown into Meier deal…and was pretty solid). It’s a depth piece…future 6D/7D. And Bastian as offset for Duehr (neither have to be included).

I would take Catton over Iginla…especially if you need a center (Iginla will be winger at next level).

Catton is smaller and less physical so hell likely to be a winger at the next level, but I think both have the potential to play center if everything goes right. Iginla played center growing up and wants to play center. It's where he'll play in Kelowna next year, we'll see how he develops.

Size isn’t what moves a center to the wing. Skating ability is usually a much larger factor when they jump to pro level. Catton is one of safer bets to play in middle.
