what do you think is more valuable, lysell, or a 4th round pick? because Kakko probably is more in the 4th round pick value wise. he sucks.

I mostly like this.
But, I would let DeBrusk walk.
I would play Merkulov with Poitras

Lol he sucks if you’re expecting a point per game production…

More to hockey than collecting points

Kakko’s QO is $2.4m so he likely doesn’t sign that lowball offer

And what’s the point of trading for him to keep him on the 3rd line

there is! and he kinda stinks at most of that too. why do you think he was 10th among rangers forwards in TOI with a health bomb mixed in? it's because he isn't good.

The same guy playing him 10th in minutes also thought it was a good idea to play Trouba more with a broken ankle in the playoffs and not only dress Wheeler in a pivotal game 4 but also start him in OT to disastrous results. NHL Coaches arent the smartest, but having great goaltending masks that.

So like Nichushkin and then Avs took a chance on him and it paid off? Kakko is literally the Rangers best defensive forward and 3 coaches don’t utilize him like that

To say he isn’t good is laughable. He’s better than most bottom 6 players in the league

nichuskin is an interesting comparable.

so you mean the guy that wasn't qualified by dallas and was allowed to walk? sounds reasonable. maybe i overshot it with a fourth round pick.

fair enough, but we've seen him for 5 years now. he just doesn't have it. i'm not saying he's incapable of figuring it out, but teams trading for him shouldn't have to pay that price.

Still applies lol you can’t write off a guy who gets minimal minutes and has good underlying analytics

Just like everyone wrote off Laffy after last season…..weird how a 22 year old can improve

sure. he might turn it around. doesn't mean he's worth anything in trade though...just like your comparable, nichuskin.

Lol I get your perspective also, but NYR have traded away so so many young forwards over the years only to see them blossom somewhere else. Kakko is a good player for how he is used and at $2.4 he's worth it for next year and has more value to the Rangers than most things he would be traded for.

i agree, thats why he's worth 1 more year at least for NYR than anything he would bring back in a trade

I’m not saying he has high value lol but you’re acting like he’s an ECHL player or a bust who can’t cut it

no i'm not. i'm acting like he's a guy that isn't worth his QO, and therefor doesn't have much if any trade value.

because of course.

I mean i don’t know what you expect Kakko to do with 11-13 minutes lmao no one can produce that much on the 3rd line

And save me the “ 10th among rangers forwards in TOI with a health bomb mixed in because he isn’t good” bullcrap

Quinn, Gallant and Lavi all made the mistake of not keeping him in the top 6. The Same coaches that utilize Trouba as a top pair defenseman or Wheeler/Hunt/Fast/Goodrow in the top 6 over Kakko

okay, so he's your binky and you're getting upset because he sucks...got it. the rangers coaching staff knows more than you. he didn't get big minutes for a reason, and the reason is that he sucks.

Lmao right because goodrow, wheeler, hunt and Blackwell are all clearly better than Kakko and it’s not a personal problem for them

Boy you really know your hockey over there 😂

2.4? yeah he is, best wing defender on team even if points are there, which they were the year before when he played with a center who could score at 5v5 Chytil who he will most likely play with next year
