As a Hawks fan, I'm not sure it'll cost that much. It's interesting because I do believe it'll cost more than the "Charts" say which is anywhere between the 30th and 32nd...which they do own a pick there, but I doubt ANA is giving up on Z.

I actually think they are shopping him. I'm willing to bet you 100 unicorns 🦄 he'll be traded before the preseason 😉

I can’t imagine this sort of trade happening. If Davidson is locked on Levyshunov, it’s hard to imagine him trading out of #2 without a massive overpay, and I don’t know that Zegras would be enough. But accepting this trade then would be a strong signal that the Hawks preferred Demidov, in which case, why would the Ducks make the deal? Certainly the Hawks would wait until after they’ve met Demidov to consider the deal. As someone who doesn’t feel strongly about Demidov vs Levyshunov, I’d accept.

Zegras isn't enough to move down one spot? You cannot be serious.

The only way Anaheim is trading Zegras for 2OA is if the pick attached to Zegras is 31st OA, not 3rd.

I can’t see Anaheim giving up Zegras just to move up one spot however, if the offer is on the table I think Chicago accepts.

Having said that, as someone who is not a fan of Zegras’s game I would hope the Hawks have another deal arranged in advance that would see Zegras flipped for another top 5 - 10 pick.

It all depends on how the Hawks evaluate the top prospects and who the Hawks think Anaheim will pick. Assuming the Hawks are certain Anaheim is taking Levyshunov, then if Davidson thinks Demidov is better than Levyshunov, then of course Zegras is enough. If the Sharks take Demidov (which obviously won't happen), Zegras wouldn't be enough to go from Celibrini to Levyshunov. If Davidson has Levyshunov and Demidov rater similarly, then Zegras should be enough. If Levyshunov is rated as a perennial Norris candidate and Demidov (or whoever they have at #3) as a 75 point winger then I don't think that Zegras, coming off a down year and who will be highly paid for the rest of his career, would be enough.

To be clear: Zegras isn't enough only if the Hawks rate Levyshunov as far above their 3rd best prospect. I would take this trade in a heartbeat.

If the deal happened I would be happy as a Hawks fan, despite not valuing Zegras as highly as Ducks fans. But I think the difference between drafting Demidov or Levyshunov is just one of preference (forward vs defense).

That said I don't think this trade happens. And there is less than 0 chance of the rebuttal trade Zegras + 31 for 2 happening

Ya of course there is 0 chance of that rebuttal trade. Those are just Ducks fans having no clue how Zegras is worth a lot less than they think.
