Description
Here’s an idea to build a team with a really awesome top six or a very strong three lines with Chandler Stephenson. They’ve got some loaded scoring, and this is heavily based on one of McWard and or Julsen stepping up and playing well next year and able to play with Hughes, and also it’s also assume that wilLander will be joining the team at the end of the season for the playoffs which will up the overall skill level on the back end.

This plan is a couple million over-the-cap but I would assume that there’s probably some cap moves that they can do or someone’s gonna be on IR season so not a perfect plan but that’s probably manageable.

I like trading Hronek to add some picks, I have a lot of confidence in this Org’s scouting department

Maybe if you pay us to take Mikheyev, Dubas would do it.

Sens aren't giving Hronek the 8M$ he wants and using draft picks to acquire him.

The original Hronek trade had Vancouver receiving a 4th round pick.

There's no 4th round pick going to Ottawa here.

And Hronek needs to stop being so greedy in his contract talks.

Ottawa declines.

Giving Lindholm 8M would be an awful decision. Same with moving Garland for a 3rd

I think CHI accepts. But VAN probably doesn't.

Mikheyev is a twice 30-point player. If he produced more points, then he would attract interest.

The Penguins need scoring help. 30-point players do not provide adequate scoring help.

I could only see Dubas being interested because he is a former player. With that being said, it will probably cost VAN like a 2nd to dump him depending on how desperate they are to free up cap. I wouldnt pay for him or take a late pick, it would have to be something that actually helps us.

The Penguins would like to free up cap also to make worthwhile acquisitions. Help me understand why Mikheyev would help.

The 2nd round pick would help. If Pens move out Smith for a pick, and then replace him with Mikheyev, then not much is lost. Dubas said he wouldnt be in on the high end, expensive UFAs.

The Penguins do not need underachieving "high end" expensive UFAs. Dubas knows he needs to bring in quality talent to win. Taking action makes the team better.
