The issue is PIT fans are trying to pass of Sheary and Rust as top 6 players when they aren't. When either are away from 87 or 71 they struggle. I think other teams know that.

In what would do you get Colin Miller for a 6th?

Not sure that the Flames trade would happen but they would have probably the second best all around D-corps 1-6.

Sheary maybe, but that's because his hockey mind and skills set is meant for top six playing time. You obviously haven't watched Pittsburgh enough because Rust can play all over the lineup and be quite successful in an all around game.

I don't think that Bennet is the type of 3C we need. I mean he's not a 3C and won't block shots and kill penalties. So I wouldn't be willing to give up much. And seems likes an underpayment for Miller but VGK'll be looking to move some Ds though.

I think PIT fans must have no issues with trades including Sheary or Rust. In fact we are happy to have Sheary and Rust and we need them more than the other teams. Sheary is a winger with reasonable cap to play with Sid and I must tell you not many paid more players (see Kessel, Perron...) can do that.

I don't see Rust the way you described him. He's not a top6 but he can play on any line and make that line only better. You can see his playoffs' performance and his decisive factor. I suppose you know what I mean right haha. So I hope we'd have this only issue to keep both of Sheary and Rust on this team because we're not getting much for them because we simply need them so much worse.

The issue is people don't watch hockey or look at stats, hey that sounds like you.
Sheary is better than your average 1st liner and rust is like a 2nd liner as far as putting quality stats, the kicker is they do it with less ice time....;

What site are you getting your stats from? I haven't been able to find a decent site.
