Description
Build a long-term champion...

Sign free agents to allow the young guys an extra year to develope. Plain and simple.

Sedins are top 6 players which in today's nhl gets a 1st and a prospect for 1 player. Since we have two I stuck with it still. Technically you'd be paying 5.25 per sedin and they each can get at least 50 points, probably more cuz Ottawa is a better team.

Pittsburgh trade is simple, they need a third line playmaking center. I simply traded them a top 4 defenceman and a 2nd-3rd line center. In return I got a top 4 defenceman back.

Edler trade because Washington looks like they need help on their left side and Edler can bring physicality and some offence.

Tanev is traded for sergachev, ik this might be annoying for him to be traded again but here's the reason.

- Tanev is one of the best shot suppression D and he plays on a crap team like canucks, imagine playing with hedman. He's also still young too and has a good salary.

- sergachev is still an unknown talent. No one knows for sure if he'll be an effective prospect which makes sense because that's like with any prospect.

- tanevs value is a 1st and a good prospect

- a top rhd is exactly what tampa needs they are so close to winning a championship And they also have more young talent on the cusp.

The canucks will also have a lot of young talent in...

Horvat boeser maata Juolevi pettersson dahlen Demko sergachev Stecher virtanen Gudbranson Siegenthaler gadjovich gaudette Hutton Baertschi Granlund Lind

Whoever proves roster worthy will be added plain and simple but that will take a year or two.

Built strong in net, and strong on defence.

The the draft the canucks take Andrei svechnikov/dahlin and Adam boqvist. Team that's deep gets deeper.

They also look to trade whoever they signed the following deadline or off-season.

Kids will be in minors tell they are ready

PIT trade make zero sense though, because we could have chased both those players in free agency if we wanted in. They don't fit in to the cap structure Rutherford likes and Gagner, a play making center, is not what we need. We need a 3rd line center who's very good defensively and can add some offense, not a offensively talented by often absent scoring line center who isn't consistant enough to be a 2C and who's not been a PKer. Del Zotto hasn't played a full season ... he barely plays half seasons and his D is also suspect and his offense is basically moot because we have (2) 50pt Dman.

Well it makes sense you'd question this TRADE as it's not your regular lowry+Dani for Sheary+pouliot.

The Toronto tear down included trading players and retaining or taking salaries in return. Your trades likely don't happen because you have traded to much cap to teams without much cap space.

If these trades are done at the deadline there should be salary room for all teams

Malkin is good defensively and Crosby is decent defensively and on top of that Crosby's great at faceoffs so a very good defensive Center is not critical. Gagner is great offensively and would be great with Hagelin and Kessel so that we can finally have three 1st lines again. And Maata is only on our team right now for one thing, his offense, which is totally invisible right now whereas del zotto is established and would do what he can't. And as for fitting in the cap, Pittsburgh has more than 3 million in cap space and losing Maata adds a little over 4 million to the cap space. That's 7 million, Gagner is on a contract that's a little over 3 million and del zotto is 3 million. That's 6 million. Pittsburgh would have around 1 million in cap space.

Are you suggestion PIT PK with Malkin and Crosby? We lost our 2 PK centers in Bonino and Cullen (who's more than likely not coming back). Rowney can and has PK, but PKing with Malking or Crosby means they're not optimizing their energy and time creating offense, etc. PIT needs a center who can replace Bonino on the PK more than they need more point production.

Maatta was projected to be a 2way defender, not just a point producer. He's on the PK more than he is the PP, and while he's struggles often he's 23 and has room to grow, or be traded for everyday pieces rather than 2 players who might show up and provide some offense.

Caps have no cap space to make that trade, and none of those trades even are close to similar value or realistic.

Teams don't have enough cap space to pull this off. Not to mention how off the value is for most of them
