Finalizing the Playoff Roster

Description
Unless Vegas can get Marchessault to sign an extension, he's trade bait. WPG likely would need to pounce soon as if it gets to the deadline teams will line up for Marchessault at that price. Vegas gets value in that it gets 5 extra years of control on a young skilled playmaking center who's never really been given a fair shake for whatever reason in WPG. A pick swap facilitates the deal as WPG only gets 1 year guarenteed of Marchessault.

Line 1:
Self explanatory. Those 3 would be a threat to score every time their on the ice. They'd be paired with Morrisey and Trouba to mitigate any of their defensive woes.
Line 2:
Connor is on this line to shelter him a bit by providing him with the skilled and defensive vets in Wheeler and Little. Connor's speed also goes great with Wheeler on the rush.
Line 3:
Finally WPG has 3 real scoring lines. Perrault and Marchessault will likely find great Chemistry as a gifted playmaker and skilled shooter. Dano and Perrault also play a mean board game and can grind it out. Facing opponents weaker third lines will give this line an edge on most nights to provide secondary scoring.
line 4:
The Lowry Copp Armia line finally slides into the 4th line role. Lowry is an excellent 4th line C and this line might still be able to provide offence but the bread and butter is penalty killing and shut down role.

This team likely has the depth to not only make the playoffs and win their first playoff game in franchise history, but potentially advance past the first round. This of course is all predicated on at minimum league average goaltending from Mason and Helley...

is it October yet?

Winnipeg is a really solid team. They can be a great team depending on the goaltending. I am not sure about the goaltending right now.

I don't get how some people say this is not a playoff team, goaltending group needs to step up, but this team is loaded with talent.

It very well could be a playoff team, and I agree it's loaded with talent. The problem is that they have to leapfrog other teams that made it last year, so there's not guarantee to the postseason. I think Mason is a definite upgrade on Pavs, and Hellebuyck is a solid goalie, so they should be better in net. Plus the young studs should only get better. The D looks fairly deep, but I think the Kulikov signing was a mistake, and he'll end up being the third pairing LH guy before long. If one of the Jets LHD prospects makes a real push for the big team I wouldn't even be surprised to see Kulikov a healthy scratch on the odd night. But injuries happen to every team, and it's always good to have some depth.
