Description

Jvr straight up for faulk are both ufa at the end of the year so seems reasonable. A draft pick to sweeten the deal bec top 4 Dman are hard to come by. Also added an extra line to the guys who could steal a spot or get called up from injuries

Faulk has 3 years left. Although you missed that fact, Canes may have interest if it's a signed JVR. Otherwise it's likely a no.

To be honest i don't think the leafs are in a long term need situation at RHD offesive dman with Lilegren in the system and really impressing the organization at where he is right now. But a longterm shutdown dman could definitely be something that would peak their intrest if the price is right.

With the playstyles of Rielly and Gardiner on the left, Faulk is not really an ideal fit. He compensates his below average defensive side with good offense. Leafs need someone who can back up Rielly or Gardiner when they take risks offensively. It's too bad because a trade like that would make a lot of sense otherwise.
