This is current, not recent or projected, right?

Swap Stamkos and Scheifele

Pietrangelo is better than Ekblad

Ehlers is going to be there shortly, but not sure if I'd put him above someone like Landeskog or JVR (or homer pick Schwartz) just yet.

I could argue goalies all day lol, overall the list looks pretty good, nice job. cheers

It's kind of a mix of both in a way, mainly just current though and players I personally prefer from watching

I'll argue the goalie rankings with you smile

Price at 1 is perfect, but after that it's way confusing. What did Schneider do this year to earn #2? Rinne was incredibly inconsistent throughout the year before he caught fire in that playoff run. Holtby has been consistently fantastic, he belongs right up there with Price. Lundqvist just had the worst season of his career, how is he ahead of Bobrovsky who just won the Vezina and was up for the Hart trophy? Bishop doesn't deserve to be on this list, especially over Murray. Where is Quick? Martin Jones? Tuukka? Talbot?

This list would be completely different if it was based off last year, but it's not. So youre whole argument right there is blown up. And Quick doesnt deserve to be top 15. Jones, Talbot and Tuukka are all on the bubble

Actually, you're contradicting yourself. If we're basing it off of past years as well, how is Quick not in there? You don't make sense.

Pretty good list. But Ekblad really struggled last year to be average. We'll see how he recovers from injuries. Subban has the "splash" but he isn't top ten good.

How so? Quick has had 1 year in his career posting a SV% of .920 or higher. I dont count cups as a stat so please tell me how he deserves to be top 10.

Thanks, I was going back and forth between a couple guys there but ended up going with Ekblad and Subban

Because Quick constantly bails his team out, and he had one of the best goaltending performances in the playoffs of all time in 2012. Ever since then, he's been an elite goalie in the league. Winning a lot of games while being very consistent. I'd sure as hell rather have a consistent goalie to give me a .915 SV% than a guy who might get me a shutout, or get me 6 scored against me

Lmao I saw this on another thread and knew you were coming here with it at some point. I love Mason, but I'm basing this list off past years, current year, and realistically where I feel their skill level is. Nothing against him, if stats were everything this list would be completely different. I remember a thread you commented on a while ago listing Bob in the top 10 but not Mason so whats your change on why Bob isnt allowed to be there? (Pretty sure you ranked him in the top 5 too) Also if I recall Bobrovsky has 2 Vezina's. I know he's inconsistent but that definitely counts for something.

The Kings have also been top 5 in shots against every single year since 2009. Put him on a different team and watch those numbers fall. You have your opinion and I have mine. Same reason I didnt rank Holtby higher. Think he's a product of the system their teams have to offer. Look at Grubauer putting up these ridiculous numbers. Now look at how Jones, Bernier and Budaj all played. Budaj's been a career backup and posted identical numbers to Quick this past year with the Kings.

I view Mason as a top 10 goaltender, as I think he is tied at 10. Venzia trophies mean little in argument if the average is the same, which it is by a matter of no more than 0.02 points in SV% and 0.03 points in GAA.

Past 5 years Craig Anderson has posted a .923 SV%, better than both Mason and Bobrovsky. You don't see him on anybody's top 10 rankings.

Then they are foolish. Craig Anderson is a top 10 goalie. Simply because individual(s) on this site buy into the recency bias (Murray top 3, etc.) doesn't mean that he isn't.

People think that Conor Sheary is worth more than 1M. They are also foolish.

I disagree. I think Craig Anderson is an underrated goalie, but I don't view him as a top 10 goalie. Stats would show him as a top 5 goalie, but the team in front of him plays the trap, limiting high danger shots and realistically turning those shots into perimeter ones.
