Description

Now this is obviously an extreme example, as it's doubtful Vegas would shake things up this much. It does show though that they could be in a position to rent out their cap space over the next few seasons for a number of high picks and some good prospects.

I think most of these deals are pretty fair trades for both sides and if anything I think some of the teams got off light for how much cap space they freed up. Also, FA pick-ups like Jagr, Franson and Winnick would all be hopefully moved at the deadline (likely some of the trades simulated here like Neal, and McNabb would be deadline deals)

It would be a pretty ugly roster for Vegas for the next year or two and they wouldn't have too much money for FA additions next year (though ideally they would extend Marchessault. But the future would be quite bright with an influx of near NHL ready prospects and a ton of high picks over the next 3 years.

vegas might take some contracts short term, but you have too many long term contracts when vegas might want the money to sign real nhlers. that's a big overpayment for RHN. the pick could be first overall.
