That's a big no from the flames side an I'm an oilers fan aha that's saying something. They're not trading there 2 superior forwards for an ageing voracek underachiever Matt Reid and a goalie an some picks

Agree with Dylan1995. And those other trades, cap dumping at it's finest. No way Canadians would take on Lehtera's salary and what give up a top 20 pick. What's in it for Nashville, absorbing 6 m in extra cap hit, and worse is MacDonald. Couldn't Vegas or any team spend 5m better?

None of these trades won't work. BUT, is somehow they did go through: this is basically the Flames team from last year, Elliot in goal, Monahan and Johnny Hockey.

None of these trades make sense for the other teams:

Calgary: Trade away their two young stars who are both under control for pretty reasonable contracts based on their age, production and potential, for an older more expensive wing who doesn't even match Gaudreu's production, an overpriced rental in Read and two years of a bad goalie. And one late first round pick isn't moving the needle. Voracek doesn't have a lot of positive value with that contract and he's not landing young stars. Like you could add three of Philly's top 5 prospects and this deal wouldn't get done (hell probably not all 5).

Montreal: Philly took on Lehtera as part of a salary dump to improve their return of 2 1sts for Scheen. He doesn't have the value to bring back a 1st, at full price he's probably not bringing back a 4th or a 5th. I also don't see why Montreal would want him, that is a lot of money to pay for a 4th line center.

Nashville: There is zero chance they would give up Ellis for Giroux. Ellis has developed into an elite defenseman, probably top 10-15 in the league and he's young with an insanely cheap price tag. Giroux is declining and really expensive. He would crush Nashville's cap the next couple of years and as he declines it's going to get ugly. The money he makes should help go to retain Ellis for Nashville, not bring in an aging center who isn't worth his current deal.

Vegas: Why would Vegas want Andrew McDonald eating their cap space? Philly is going to have to give up serious assets to get rid of McDonald. Vegas could definitely be the team that takes him, but expect a 1st rounder and another pick or prospect shipped with him.

Chances of one team making 4 trades from now until the season are pretty low.
