Change the franchise future with just a few moves

Created by: Leafsin2020
Team: 2018-19 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 23, 2017
Published: Aug. 24, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Easily win 2 Stanley cups with a line like that. If Nolan Patrick becomes a star in 2 years then don't sign Tavares afterwards and you got the money. Schneider is a solid starting goalie for another 3,4 years. So this is the short term trick. Win 2 Stanley cups then start rebuilding.

I agree with you 100% but you are going to get trashed on this website. The know it alls on here are going to say you won't be able to afford this team in the few as you have to sign Provorov, Konecny and others but I disagree. Then again, it is all fantasy anyway

let's think this out. leherta who is crap, is so wanted by dallas, they give up a pick to accept lehtera's 4.7m contract. then the flyers have money to spend 5m on Carlson. wouldn't the stars be better just to sign Carlson for 6m a year. like hundreds times better off.

There are still better teams than this in the league. I also don't think Tavares is the guy to put the Flyers over the top. The Flyers future success will be on the backs of the young d-men coming up. So Ron Hextall won't be trading a top defensive prospect for a goalie, even if it is for one as good as Schneider is. Provorov would be on the top pair with Carlson not Ghost. Also don't understand why the Devils would even do that. Don't think they'd retain any salary to help the Flyers. Finally the Flyers won't be winning any cups with MacDonald still on the team.

I like the premise but can't see Tavares settling for a 2yr deal or NJ dealing Schneider to a division rival.

Interesting fact: Philadelphia and New Jersey have never made a trade together.

Sanheim for a goalie is probably the worst thing Hexy could do.
