Like the Edmonton trade but don't think you get Puljujarvi AND a 1st. If your blowing up the team might as well trade Giroux too. Figuring to Montreal for a Chucky and a 1st or some similar package

Thanks for your input. I guess it all depends how bad Edmonton wants Simmonds. Edmonton would be pretty dangerous. With the addition of Simmonds, Edmonton's 1st round pick will be a late one. Puljujarvi is still unproven so I'd imagine Philadelphia would want some insurance. Maybe Philadelphia adds something to sweeten the deal.
As for Giroux it was a tough call on whether or not to unload him. With that salary/term/age and his declining stats it'd be a tough sell for a team to take him on. I see Giroux as a mentor and PP specialist after a couple more seasons. Similar to what Danny Briere was.

Believe you can only retain one salary per trade and 3 max.

Swap Matt Read with Raffl at full cap hit. Philly could do without either of them lol

There is no way San Jose is taking on Vorcek's salary and giving two firsts, he's got 6 more years on that deal and is paid way too much for his production. Philly would have to retained a serious chunk of that deal

When we traded Luke Schenn and Vincent Lecavalier to Los Angeles for Jordan Weal and a draft pick, we retained both Schenn's and Lecavalier's contract.
wojme and NateElder12 liked this.

Yep I am wrong. Something I probably heard on this site because everything you here on the internet is true.

Rules:
1) Max three players retained
2) Max amount retained per player is 50% of the cap hit.
3) Aggregate amounts cannot exceed 15% of salary cap ceiling.

Boedker´s cap hit is much worse if you look at his numbers... But I agree that two 1st round picks are too much
