Giving up 6 pieces (Lupul a dump), as well as taking in $11M in cap tied up for a minimum of 3 years, would concern me going forward. Two very good players coming back, can they be added to the long term core? Added to: Reilly, Zaitsev, Marner, Matthiews, Nylander, Kadri! Without question you would have to move Gardiner before next year, and find a way to insure Marleau is moved in his final year for cap relief. Is this an upgrade Landeskog vs. JVR, and Barrie vs. Gardiner, when considering the prospects given up, and the flexibility surrendered?

Why would JVR commit to a rebuilding team? Don't see it happening if Sakic moves Landeskog and Barrie he can do far better then this imo.

Highly doubt JVR would be willing to sign for them and don't think Toronto wants to be giving up 1st rounders yet

I like Tyson Barrie but Landeskog is a question mark to me with his declining performance.
On the Leafs side, Lupul is not a big deal since Leafs can get cap relief via LTIR and he is off the books next year anyways.

The part that is way over-priced for the Leafs is the four great prospects plus a 1st round pick. That looks like a package to get an elite player minimum.
