Sharks replace Marleau

Created by: ItzMeTaboo
Team: 2017-18 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 5, 2017
Published: Sep. 5, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Marleau was the key to most of San Jose's luck and with him off to Toronto, San Jose needed a replacement. If Carolina can manage to get Duchene like they've been trying to do then they can ship Staal to San Jose and get a decent winger for him and a high pick. As long as San Jose can rely on some youngsters for their bottom 6 then they can do decent and possibly make a playoff spot.

I think that Carolina will want a bit more, maybe add another 2nd to make it identical to the return they got for Eric.

Carolina thinks they can make a playoff run, so I don't think they would trade Staal.

Agree, Sharks should give more opportunities to prospects... Understand they want to try another run for Jumbo Joe but they would need Boedker to step up or get a top 6 wing with at least 30+ goals... With this lineup they can just hope to get to playoffs and it would depend mostly on goaltending, which is solid but not really consistent
