Description

To me a single move such as this sets the Habs up well for the coming year. Lots of options for top/bottom six, and special teams looks good. Perhaps a bit of an over payment for A.A. (given current experience) but if he continues his progress as an NHLer its definitely worth the gamble. While the reality is that Detroit would likely match, they do have their backs against the wall for the time being.

I love the idea of bringing in AA, but let's look at numbers:
- First, he's not that much better at winning FO than Drouin or Galchenyuk
- Second, his GAR rating places him behind Patches, Gallagher, Byron, Danault, Drouin and Mitchell, at par with Shaw
In the ideal scenario, he would play LW on the 3rd line, but Byron is already slotted there
I'd say pass
