As a Blackhawks fan, it's not that I don't like this trade necessarily, just knowing the Blackhawks organization they will not get rid of Crawford or more importantly Toews at this point as both are the face of the team. That said, if Toews has another so so season, then I could see the Hawks considering a change.

Uhhhhh no. Galchenyuk is a second line center. Secondly, there is no way in hell i would want any goalie at 10.5m a year. no thank you.

BTW, Toews is also $10.5 mill a year if you didn't notice. And if you call a point per game when healthy 2nd line, I don't know what is 1st line to you. Is McDavid the only 1st line player in your opinion? I would not do the trade though because these players are faces of the Hawks and Price is ours. Also I'd prefer Galchenyuk over Toews even without the cap.

Your assessment of Galchenyuk is a bit harsh. He scored 30 in 2015-16. Has a .70 ppg over the last two years. Has size, skill and speed. And he's 23!!!!!!
