Isn't it kinda of silly to suggest that Malkin who has a NMC to accept a trade to Winnipeg?

Even if Malkin wanted to go to Winnipeg, they would have to give up Trouba and one of their top 6 forwards plus something else. Maybe trouba, ehlers, and little, but that probably wouldn't even cut it

Well he might because of how stacked they are with forwards but their other positions need help so no, I agree with you.

Yes this is something more realistic. Too little for Malkin. Just because you're giving a lot of players for him, doesn't make it a good deal because none of those players are even close to being as good as Malkin. Malkin is a generational talent and so is Crosby and they both score a lot more points than games so they still haven't left their prime. The fact that Pittsburgh has these two generational talents along with a franchise player like kessel, letang, Murray, Fleury, Staal, is why they have won 3 cups in the past decade. If Crosby and Malkin played a full season last year they would've had 100 pts like McDavid maybe more.

And if you included those players like stammertime is saying, the team is losing their forwards which as I said earlier is their best group as opposed to defense and goaltending. Even with Malkin these faults will forbid them from winning a cup so why would Malkin waive his NMC to go to this team then? Kind of like what palhal said.

Bad deal for Jets, Malkin misses 20 games a year and is due a signing bonus of 5million the final 2 years of his contract effectively paying him 14.5 million per season. 26 yr old malkin is worth it but not 36 yr old Malkin!

100% accurate, he is due a salary of 9.5 in 20-21 and 21-22 plus signing bonuses of 5million each of those years. Source: capfriendly

Essentially what happens with Malkin is that he gets that 5M up front on the last two years and gets paid 4.5M throughout the season.

This is a bad trade for both sides. I can see that the Pens wouldn't want it unless they got a top 6 forward plus Trouba and as a Jets fan, this is giving way too much up when we already have Schiefele as a #1 center.

I stand corrected, still wouldn't make the trade though!
