Good on you for offering something substantial for Duchene. Not knocking anyone's socks off, but still substantial. And that's an honest evaluation of Pastrnak. He'll get paid.

I don't get the other trades, though. Vegas doesn't need or want Khudobin. And, even with retention, you'll probably struggle to get a 7th for Beleskey. Arizona doesn't have the roster spots to give jobs to just anyone anymore.

It's not bad (from BOS side). My biggest concern is still can Duchene mentally handle playing in Boston...which has been known to chew up players and spit them out. I don't see a deal happening wi/o a 1st or key prospect going back. (you got those). Personally I'd really like to see a deal where COL retains, giving BOS a chance to add a little more if need be. It may cost something extra, but I think it'd be worth it and COL would only need to retain for 2 years

The other trades had to be made just to fit everyone in under the cap

My only problem with this mock is our d becomes a little weaker again which has been our problem the past couple years

Any trade with Boston starts with Carlo I reckon so I don't see it happening.

And for Boston that's pretty much where it ends lol. If Carlo was available, a deal would have been done last season. COL is in for a rude awakening when they don't get the return they think they do for Duchene.

Slightly weaker, but not by much. You'd open a spot for O'Gara or even Zboril/Lauzon. Zboril/Lauzon of course could be better after their careers are over than Killer.

It was great watching the world juniors last year with Mcavoy and lauzon running the back ends for both team USA and Canada. And even lindberg who looked great with Charlie before he got hurt. Bright future ahead on the back end.

Exactly my point, thanks for reiterating it! As for value for Duchene.....we wait & see!

Best thing for Duchene and Landeskog and Barrie, is start playing good NHLers. Then there trade value will be higher for the Avs. Until then there playing value and cap obligations make a favourable trade for Sakic and Avs fans problematic.
Avs fans should stop believing the hype "What Sakic wants". Thirty other teams aren't buying in to his wishes. Maybe Avs fans get real too.

Yes and now you have absolutely 0 room to make moves during the season. Not a good place to be. Let's just nix the idea of Duchene. Bels regains his touch this year!! Flip Bjork and Backes.

D was fine last year, actually one of our strengths!!!. We lacked scoring and we had major injury problems.

Exactly. Most non-Bruin fans don't understand that....

Most Avs fans don't believe the media hype. Most fans of others teams think they will be able to make lowball offers, forgetting that Sakic can stand pat just as easily and do just exactly that, write off last season and wait and see how they perform this year. It's a gamble. People should also remember that Landeskog and Barrie aren't actively being shopped. Sakic is listening to offers for all. The reason those 3 players turn up in trade speculation along with MacKinnon is because they are the Avs most valuable players, ergo they are worth the most, ergo they will cost you. Fortunately none of the other GMS are stupid enough to believe they will get them for third liners and low draft picks as with some of the trades we see on here.

ok but the problem is Duchene isn't worth much more than that. Landeskog, uhhh ok maybe. MacKinnon is good, I'll give you that....

Your opinion to which you're entitled and I think we've already agreed that if it's Carlo we're talking in a trade then it won't happen so to my mind Boston are out of trade conversations for Duchene/Landeskog. I could of course always be proven wrong! grin
