canes don't really need a rhd, albeit a very good one. koptitar, his play and his 10m salary makes him untradeable.

There would have to be some adjustments but yes it could work. Look at Chicago, somehow paying Kane and Toews that kind of money.

Fair enough but you have to admit, he has been hinting at possibly not resigning in LA unless the team is better, etc.

2 years left on his deal, and he's not going to retire but LA isn't competing to pay him the most.
It's my sense that he's open to a trade, to a team that he wants to join -- so we've heard both sides of that from Doughty's camp.
