Agreed, I think they were adding term in order to lower the AAV, but IMO could've been a little lower at 6 yrs... either way, he's a good player and the Jets top 6 is going to be scary as hell.

As a Jet fan, this will only worry me if we can't sign the young guys in three/four years. I also think this is why the is the change to the NMC after 3 years(potential trade???).
Also, if Little can be healthy for the 6 years, its an awesome deal(we just don't know that yet...smile)

It's very rare that a team can get a "perfect" contract. Ideally, Little would have taken a deal with two years less term, but it's clear Winnipeg felt that either the cap situation won't be too bad, or that they'll be able to maneuver around it. But he's obviously important enough to them that this contract is worth while.

I feel like less term and higher AAV would've been better, but this isn't bad and definitely beats not signing him at all. I'd just trade him in a year or two if I were WPG
