            Just letting you guys know, that this deal (or a similar one) is still on the table, if you really want that top pairing LHD. They don't come much better (and on a more team friendly contract) than Ekholm.

            You get your top 4 LH D with 60+ point potential, Carlo a solid RH young D and Vatrano a middle 6 LW scoring winger.

            I mean, #1 LHDs cost a lot. It still leaves you with White and Brown, and Ekholm can be on your top pair for at least 5 years on an extremely team friendly contract, plus the salaries balance out. It'll help you contend now and in the future, since you're undecided on what you want to do with the team. Gives you a top of options for your top 4 D.
