I think you're going a little high with your asking price. We aren't moving both Chabot and Brown, and i'm not too interested in moving our 1st, but we might give you Chabot+ still.

What sort of plus are you looking at?

dude its a simulation... the whole point is to make deals

I see the whole point as being an NHL GM. I know it's just a game and it's all about having fun, but I don't see it as a trading game only, i see it as a game where everyone acts like a GM, and does a deal when it seems right. I've never liked the idea of making deals just to make deals, in real life or the GM Game.

Have you seen the trades that some (read: all) of us have made? This game isn't meant to be 100% realistic. Then it'd just be boring.

Have you seen the trades that some (read: all) of us have made? This game isn't meant to be 100% realistic. Then it'd just be boring.

Yeah, i know, but i think it's kind of different to everyone. Some like to make a lot of deals, some only make a few, and just because it's a game doesn't mean i have to trade away my whole team.

Young forwards draft picks and Young defence.

So something like Chabot, Claesson, Chlapik, and a pick maybe. There's still another guy we're going after first though.

            what was your offer?

            The offer was.....

Erik Karlsson for Kevin Bieksa, straight up. NO add ons by either side.

You might laugh at first, but think of it in terms of your teams future.

Right now you have $4.8M in cap space.
You trade me Karlsson and now you have $11.3 in cap space.
You take back Bieksa at $4m and you're down to $7.3M
Bieksa's contract ENDS after this season, so you instantly gain back that $4M, and again $11.3
That's like me just giving you almost $10M in cap space....
And looking at things next year for you, it appear you only have $14M with a few high profile UFA's to sign.
Doing this trade with me would now give you $25 MILLION DOLLARS in the summer to sign any fee agents you'r heart desires.

So, on the surface it looks really dumb, but play it out and you actually come out ahead in the end.

Think about and let me know. I hold off telling Bieksa to sell his house until I hear form you.

Would you trade me that apple for my PB&J sandwich?

I know I'm still fairly new in the game, but seriously, this is the most frustrating team thread in the entire game.
You've been offered some pretty damn good players, and you've snubbed your nose at every one of them because you have an AGM that has somehow convinced you that Thomas Chabot is equivalent to the love child of Bobby Orr & Paul Coffey who grew up and had an affair with Connor McDavid.
Dude, Chabot has 10 points and hasn't even played the entire season with the NHL club. Even in real life he will take far more time to start to develop into even 0.000000000001% of where you value him at. He plays behind Erik Karlsson and sadly Dion Phaneuf who doesn't even deserve to be there anymore.
I get it that you may not as familiar with the real Ottawa team as your AGM, but that doesn't mean you need to take everything he says as words handed down by God himself.
He's killing your chances of putting together an absolute FORCE of a team given the deals I've seen offered to you.

The Vancouver Canucks are officially cutting off communications with you, since having communications with you would only be a waste of time.

If you're talking about the 111 pages, i don't even know why that is. Part of it is that i haven't needed to make any new pages or anything and am the first Ottawa GM of the 2017-18 GM Game.
