2017-18 GM Game V2- St Louis Blues

Created by: Turner33
Team: 2017-18 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 15, 2017
Published: Sep. 15, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Ritchie, Berglund, Fast can be had for picks at draft. I can add a pick in any deal to get me better picks.

STRATEGY TEAM DEFENSE.
I have a veteran group that all plays solid 2way hockey. I'm hoping they mix of skill and defense will be respected in the playoffs. Most of the other contenders are leaning heavily on young players or have little playoff experience. We have size, skill and speed. We can play any style needed. Defensively we have no holes. Lines all complement each other as best as I could imagine.
Goal Stanley Cup finals, and hoist that bad boy!

I am as a matter of fact. Not that I think he's a #2, but I think he'd pair well with Petro

since you have a lot of LW depth id be interested in someone like schene as he can play 3C for my squad

Well it probably wouldn't be realistic to trade a guy we just aquired in the offseason. I kinda want to see how he does with the Blues 1st, as well.
I have Sobotka who is a true 3c, I could add

You could always hold onto him then flip him later on for an even bigger return. What if I add a mid round pick too?

The plus just needs to be large for Schwartz. Would you do Schwartzy and Fabbri for Malkin?

Not really looking to move him, but could add him in a deal for Wennberg

You could always hold onto him then flip him later on for an even bigger return. What if I add a mid round pick too?

The plus just needs to be large for Schwartz. Would you do Schwartzy and Fabbri for Malkin?

                                                  hard pass.

                                                  I could do maatta + jerry + 2019 2nd for Schwartz

Sorry, but I'd need someone better and/or longer term for Patches.
Why does Plekanec scare you? Is it because he wears turtlenecks? Sticking Out Tongue
He's a solid defensive center that can put up a few points and rarely misses any games. He also keeps the cap balanced, otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to consider Stastny at all.

2C with 1 year left and a 4W with 1 year left, for a 3C with 1 year left and a long term asset in McCarron.

I thought you were planning on doing that anyway?

Outsider perspective, you have Steen, Fabbri, Sobotka, Schenn, Barbashev, and Berglund when he returns (among others). I wish I had that many options. Sticking Out Tongue
Plekanec is a C, so it's a downgrade, but still a more than capable center. McCarron can also play C for what it's worth.

Your call to make, just telling you what I see.

Steen Fabbri and Schenn are like Galchenyuk as C's I think

Schenn somewhat. Galchenyuk can play center, but his development at the position was stunted. frown
He could still catch up given time and become competent, but that requires patience we can no longer afford.
Fabbri will be decent I think. Steen is only a stop gap.

So basically, Stastny is unavailable unless/until you pick up another center?

Something like that. But I'm just not sure on Plekanec
