duchene trade where he isn't overpaid for

Description
THERE WILL PROBABLY BE BETTER OFFERS FOR HIM. IDK why everybody ridiculously overpays for him.. i saw galchenyuk, juulsen and a first for him when idk if i would trade just galchenyuk for him.

assuming he doesn't show up to training camp and forces sakics hand. there will probably be better offers but you get a defensive prospect that is under 24 and ready to make the bump up to the nhl, staal is still somewhat serviceable and at 3.5 it's not the worst contract (considering girardi got 3mill for two years) and will solidify the LH side temporarily until Graves proves his worth and developes into a second pair player, a third line prospect in nieves (good possession player that can play center as well as wing) and a first round pick in a very deep draft.

also DeAngelo has more potential that Puempel, so play him at wing if his defensive game is too weak, at least while Fast is out

honestly if poink and deangelo can prove themselves more valuable than smith during training camp, see if sending smith would work. IF they can play i wouldn't mind seeing

McD-Shatty
Skjei-Poink
Bereglazov-DeAngelo

Huge underpayment . Why would AVS accept to pay 9m of useless Marc Staal ? For a bunch of second rounder with a 30% chance of making the game ?

Doesn't Marc Staal have a NMC? Why would he waive it for COL

don't be sour that i just bashed your trade in the description. mtl would be horrid with the aftermath of that trade. if you wanna give galchenyuk away for that little i'll give you desharnais and a second rounder.

Staal isn't a top tier defender anymore but he is capable -- not worth the 5.7 price tag which is why retained salary--
nieves and graves are both NHL ready-- will never be top tier players no but nieves will be a solid 3rd line player (similar to Fast-- vastly underrated by playing solid defensive game and able to put up 20+ points in a bottom level role) and graves will be a solid second pairing defenseman (think of smith, McQuaid, willie mitchell, etc) plus a first round pick.. and this is all hypothetical if duchene forces sakics hand (in which case every team will low ball their offers)

Staal isn't a top tier defender anymore but he is capable in a slightly sheltered role -- not worth the 5.7 price tag which is why retained salary-- (think girardi got 3 million and well.. thats a true traffic cone)

To be honest i didn't read the description so i couldn't be sore lol , but yeah my offer is way better . Maybe too much ? ok take some out . Your one is exempt of differencemakers and mine have 1 + potentially a lot more . Cheers !

Can't see the Avs having any interest in Staal even with salary retained. FYI Duchene has already arrived in Denver for training camp. It's highly unlikely he won't be there after his interview with the press.

This. Literally every trade that involves Marc Staal doesn't answer this question. Spanky, even if all of the teams are okay with this, why would Staal agree to this?
