Description
A few months ago, some folks on this site where writing that the Leafs had to waive Bozak or Kadri or Zaitsev in order to get cap compliant this seasons.
Gee, I could wrong, but didn't these guys play for the Leafs last night.
Or was that it's only the Leafs that can't have players on LTIR.

Hey Pal: not sure where you are coming from on this. I would never have suggested waiving any of these players but may have suggested moving some of them for players I thought would fit Leafs better both short and long term. We hAve never had cap issues this year. . . Nor will we in any form next year. Billius is right to bring up our bonus overages as I am sure we are aware of. These also won't affect us in 18/19 and should be minimal and again not affect us given proper management going forward from there. I like the lineup as proposed above, but feel today's move on Marincin may suggest either a Polak signing and /or a move to bring in another depth Dman.

Hi Doug. Yes Billus did a fine job in explaining the maze known as LTIR. Back in July, July 12th actually, an anti Leaf troller goldie078 wrote the Leafs would have to multiple players on waivers cause Horton and Lupul were on LTIR. Said the Leafs HAD to be at the 75m level including Horton and Lupul. When I contradicted the Royal Goldie he suggested that I ban myself from CapFriendly for being wrong.
I'm just wondering if he would be so gracious to apply the same rules to himself. As I wrote before, teams don't get punished for having players on LTIR. Thought this bonus performances look like they have be sent forward onto the following season. After game 1, looks like the bonuses are going to be met.
Maybe when the Leafs wrap up first overall on March 5thsarcasm, the Leafs send Matthew, Nylander and Marner to Marlies to lessen the performance bonuses.

Yes, the situation is so dire that Leafs management are only left with $4.55M in cap room now.
Lou has a little smile on his face, you know, that Mona Lisa secret smile. The one that says "I have Pridham managing my Cap."
