What are you giving the Wings in exchange for the rights to AA?

McCarron couldn't make the Leaf lineup. Don't the Leafs need JVR for a playoff run? Thought having a top 10 pick would be nice.

If that's an offer sheet Detroit would match it, Already have a deal in place for Sheahan and Booth can be sent down that alone nearly clears $2.8 million if need be.

Leafs not moving JVR for futures! Pal: Montreal's first looks pretty attractive, and in reality, probably even better if it came without McCarron, but Leafs not likely to make this type of deal. Only move JVR if they get an upgrade on D that they can insert directly into lineup!

the only way I can see the Leafs picking up AA from Detroit, would be to trade a minor leaguer straight up. SO who do the leafs have to give up, and who do the leafs have that can help the wings either this yr or next yr. Any player the wings get has to either play in the minors or take a spot from someone already in the lineup, they are right at the cap, no room to move. leafs could offer 1 of the following straight up for AA...Miro Aaltenon,Freddie Gauthier, kerby Ryckel,Adam Brooks,Nikita Soshnikov. if Detroit wants any of those players the leafs would then have to trade/cut Moore or Fehr or both and plug AA in as your 4th line centre. not sure AA wants to play as a checker?. if he can play wing, Martin comes out.

The more I have thought about it, due to future UFA's, bonus overages, and ELC players getting new deals, the more I believe this is the year Leafs management will make a big push. So trading JVR, Bozak, or Komarov looks a lot less likely to me now that it did just a couple months ago. If they do make a trade it will be to strengthen this year's club which means: defense.

Whats funny about this? I agree with everything said.

@ OP, DET matches offer sheet, don't think either team makes the trade unless JVR or Galchenyuk magically turn into C's
