@phillyjabroni @Icegirl any opinion on this? Not exactly legal to retract a waiver claim, but I don't think we've had this situation before...
If I may, allow me to explain the reasoning behind my decision.
It was my understanding that because this player didn't sign his contract until March 1, 2018 which is clearly after our game began, that by claiming him I was simply getting him at his "pre contract" status which woul dbe an RFA on a teams (ARI) rights list.
After discussion in the twitter group chat, it was disclosed that by claiming him it would be at his current contract, which I do not want at this time. I only placed the claim because I thought I would get the "rights" to that player if successful.
As with every other player in our game, if they sign a contract AFTER Sept 15, 2017 we have that player at his pregame status, which is what I thought was the case with Brayden Burke.
As an example only because I'm familiar witht his player, I'll use Mike Matheson.
At the start of our game, his end of season status is RFA. However he signed his new NHL contract Oct 7, 2017 AFTER our game started which means at the end of this season "in game" he still holds onto RFA status and whichever club has him can sign him to whatever new contract they choose rather than having to take him at his real life contract going forward.
Hope that makes sense, and whatever is decided is fine with me.
