Philadelphia Flyers

Tony Calderone (IRL contract)

... Also, signing Cooper Marody to IRL contract

You can't. You used your claim on Westerholm. (Unless we granted you guys one before the trade deadline and one after; I don't believe we did, but I'll check.)

These aren't waiver claims from players leaving teams? These are undrafted guys signing IRL contracts. I only post it here since it appeared that's what everyone was doing. Wasn't aware these follow the same rules. I thought the single waiver claim monthly was for guys actually on waivers.

I'm pretty sure it's for all claims (real waivers and free agents). That's why I didn't steal Andrew Sturtz from you. I can check though.

haha ok that's fine. I wasn't sure when i read back through the main posted rules. It only identified waiver claims but if that's what we all decided on i understand. Just let me know and if thats the case ill void/delete that post. Sorry for the mix up.

A new waiver policy will be implemented starting February 1, 2018.

Beginning that day, teams will be allowed ONE waiver claim per month. All past waiver claim policies such as being contract compliant to claim a player remain in effect. A team may place as many players on waivers as they wish, however, they are only allowed to claim ONE player per month. It is irrelevant whether or not you are the only team to put a claim on a player. Any player claimed off of waivers counts towards a teams one claim per month.

If you have any questions about this policy, please ask in the “Messages to the BOE” Thread. Thanks.

.. this is what i was going off. Didn't know undrafted FAs counted as this since it only talked about players being waived by other teams. LikeI said let me know. This shouldn't be a large issue from what i can see. thanks!

After talking to my colleagues, the general interpretation is that free agents DO count as your waiver claims for the month. So Westerholm is the only guy you can claim.

College free agents should go to the teams they choose IRL, since of course they chose them. Or be in with other FA's? IDK... This system, for them, doesn't seem realistic imo

All free agents choose their teams, in a sense. If we apply that logic, why have free agency at all in this game? Though if you think we should treat college FAs like regular ones, bring it up in the BOE thread.

Honestly they usually choose on best for for them personally. So there's no good method.
