Idk if you guys listen to the Steve Dangle Podcast, but they make a good point: what exactly can GMMB do to this roster? They don't have any assets to trade for anything that makes them markedly better. Who are they gonna trade, say for a Duchene? Colorado wants a defenseman, so Petry? Just making a slow defense slower. Mete? No chance. Are you gonna give up a young forward like Lehkonen? Not if you want to make your offense better.

Other than giving up a wealth of 1st round picks, they've got nothing. The next thing that needs to happen is a Bergevin firing, and if not that, then all-in on any quality center they can get their hands on.

yeah, he should. being a GM isn't all about just trading ... i mean, maybe in Montreal a little bit, but he should stay.

One of the few Montreal proven players at a reasonable price. When Montreal is out of the playoff picture this year, I can see him being traded. Certainly before he leaves as UFA. Goes to a contender. Pens, Ducks are my favourites for this year.

We have way too many discussions about basically the same thing -- the Habs organization is in trouble for as long as Bergevin is in charge. There are so many better options than the one that he is pursuing.

Really, it's not all about trading.
