cause hes not worth that much, would be better to trade green at 6 mil use that money to fix needs. rebuilding with draft picks ext. rebuilding the farm system.

He's not worth less than 1.4 million? How? He scored almost 20 goals last year in 60-some games. That's a steal of a contract. Even if his defensive play isn't great, it's still a good contract for them.

By today's standards he's underpaid. Unfortunately for him, Detroit had the hammer and AA had no leverage. Even worse is the possible feeling in the dressing with AA and other young guys coming off their ELCs soon. We're going to screwed, money wise but the Wings because they mismanaged the cap so bad by handing silly contracts to Helm, Ericsson, Mzrak, Weiss,

Not to mention, he had an average ice time of 11 mins last season

He a young gun and good if you are signing a guy to 1mil for a year trade him
